BuckeyeThon: The Dance Marathon

BuckeyeThon is a student organization designed to teach students the value of philanthropy and service while they work throughout the year to raise money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital with the ultimate goal of ending childhood cancer. It is an organization that will unite students, faculty, staff and the community while working for a united cause.

Nationwide Children's Hospital, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a part of Children's Miracle Network and treats all children regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Over the past decade, BuckeyeThon has grown to become the premier philanthropic organization and a Signature Event at The Ohio State University. This past year, BuckeyeThon 2013 reached a new level of success with our main event, a Dance Marathon, lasting for two-12 hour shifts and raising over $600,000.

The BuckeyeThon 2014 Dance Marathon will be taking place in two 12-hour shifts. The first shift begins on February 14, 2014 at 8:00 pm and goes until 8:00am on February 15, 2014.

The second shift will begin at 11:00 am on February 15, 2014 and go until 11:00 pm for the final closing ceremony and reveal. All dancers from the first shift are invited and highly encouraged to return to support their team and stand together for the final closing ceremony and reveal during the last hour of BuckeyeThon.

In order to participate in the Dance Marathon as a dancer, Ohio State students are required to raise at least $100 for the cause of ending pediatric cancer. Also, as a dancer you must be an Ohio State student with a valid BuckID. If you need ideas on how to fundraise, check out our dancer fundraising page
